Marriage is becoming a thing of the past. More than fifty percent of the people who get married end up in divorce court while a fraction of the other fifty percent are not happy in their unions. Marriage is an institution just like any other and it is due for some major revision. I am sure there are many of you who share the same sentiment.
I have never been able to relate when i see women crying in their white gowns saying " I have dreamt of this day since i was a little girl " and even now as I near the big 30 I still have no day dreams about it one second. I would like to have a life partner who i should share my life with without the suffocating effects of signing paperwork to show my life and committment. I think getting married would be the fastest way of ending a good relationship for people who share my sentiments on this issue.
I once talked to my mother about this, now keep in mind she is a devout christian african woman, so you can see why that was a short converstion. She absolutely had no concept of what I was getting at because according to her thats just part of life you get married have kids and in turn she gets her grandchildren and so on.
I have been told by both men and women that I would regret this several years from now when I have let Mr Right slip through my fingers, well i am willing to take the risk for two reasons one of them being I feel that if I did marry someone in a way I would be deceiving them because i do not believe in the union they would have in mind and secondly because I do not like to do things just because society expects me to, I really like staying true to myself.
P.S I am not scared of committments!!!
